The
Santa Maria Valley YMCA offers a variety of aquatic
activities throughout the year. The YMCA's heated outdoor pool is 25 yards
long, has a diving board and 6 lanes for lap swimming. Activities include recreational swim,
lap swim, swim lessons, youth swim conditioning, aqua fitness and more!

SWIM LESSONS
The YMCA offers progressive swim classes for children ages 3 and older. Morning,
evening and weekend classes are offered throughout the year. For additional information, contact
the YMCA Front Desk. Space is limited, so sign up today!
PARENT AND CHILD
This class promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for
children from six months up to three years of age and their parents or
other trusted adults.
SKIPPER, POLLIWOG, GUPPY, MINNOW AND
FISH
These progressive classes teach water awareness and introductory skills for beginner
and intermediate swimmers. Students will learn front crawl with rotary breathing,
elementary backstroke and breaststroke. Safety skills will include pool
rules and use of pool safety equipment.
YOUTH SWIM CONDITIONING
This class is available all year around. It is designed for youth
enjoying to swim and wishing to improve their endurance. This class
is coached in a fun, non-competitive team format. Children ages 8-16 must
be able to swim one 25 yard length to enroll. PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Offered for all ages on a one-on-one basis, private lessons are great for
beginning non-swimmers to advanced swimmers looking for stroke refinement.

schedule.
LAP SWIMMING
This non-impact exercise works the entire body and cardiovascular system.
Depending on pool use, swimmers may be required to share a lane. Lap swim times are available
throughout the day. Contact the YMCA for a current schedule or check the
schedule online!
AQUA FITNESS
Water aerobics classes increase cardiovascular endurance, improve metabolic
efficiency, and increase range of motion while causing no trauma to weight
bearing joints. Morning, evening and Saturday classes are available.
RECREATIONAL SWIMMING
Available to all individuals and families for water enjoyment, swimming and
