the spirit, mind and body. OurGroup Exercise Classesare designed for all ages, all levels and all interests. From low-impact exercise
and chair classes, stretching and strength training to indoor cycling, water exercise, yoga, and Zumba, you’ll find a group class that’s fun, supportive and keeps you
moving.
Through ourY Personal Trainings, we focus on overall wellness, empowering you to tailor your own plan
toward healthier living by choosing how you will accomplish your wellness goals. A fitness professional will help with program plan development, motivation, accountability and support as you
choose your path to a healthier new you!
At the YMCA, not only do we provide facilities, equipment, and programs we also provide 4Healthy Lifestyle Sessionsto help you get started. These sessions provide you with theopportunity to become
comfortable at our YMCA by meeting with a fitness professional to assess your goals, needs and support your path to a healthy life style.
At the Y, we have recently added more space, more equipment and a greater range of opportunities outside by with aFunctional Fitness
area! Functional Fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at
home, at work, or in sports. The area is equipped with kettlebells, metabolic resistance, weights, stability balls, risers, steps and is used for trainings such as Rope Training, Interval
Training, Cross Training, Body Weight Training, and Cardio Strength Training.
Additionally, at the Y, we offer ourYouth Certification programfor kids and teens, ages 12 and older,
to teach them basic exercise principles. Our staff teaches them the basics exercise physiology, how to properly use the cardio equipment as well as our weight room and functional fitness
area. There is a written and practical exam on the cardio and strength equipment. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass. Once they have passed they will have access to our workout
rooms.
