Childcare At The Y

Children are like sponges – they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our child care programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids. We make children feel connected and supported in trying new things. We also supply the reinforcement parents need to help each other. At the Y, kids make friends, learn new skills, and do homework; most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Complimentary Childcare While You Exercise

Santa Maria Valley YMCA offers complimentary childcare for ages 3m-12yr so that you can get in a great workout while your little ones are taken care of. You take care of your health, we'll take care of the kids!

After School Education and Safety (ASES)

The ASES program is the result of the 2002 voter-approved initiative, Proposition 49.  The program created partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment and safe constructive alternatives for students in kindergarten through ninth grade (K-9).

The Santa Maria Valley YMCA collaborates with Santa Maria Bonita School District providing services to the ASES program at 15 school sites in Santa Maria.  These sites are:  Arellanes Elementary and Junior High, Battles Elementary, Fesler Junior High, Miller Elementary, Rice Elementary, Sanchez Elementary and Tunnell Elementary.

Enrollment into the ASES’s program is through Santa Maria Bonita School District.  For more information about the ASES program, please click here.
